Well, watched "House of Flying Daggers" with Jaytee last night. We both agreed it was more of a love story with martial arts in it (than the other way round).
I think I've got to go see my aunt and cousin this afternoon. They're in from Texas and are leaving this weekend. I'm not really sure why I don't like my family, but I'm not really up with any of them. They are supportive in some sense, and underhanded and devious in others. Like all families I guess. But the less I have to do with them, the better off I am. I don't really want to go, but at least a short visit might be in order.
Listening to some Greek music right now...trying to find the will to focus on work...

just a thought, but could it be that they are much more about who you were rather than who you are or who you will be (because, as I'm finding out through getting to know you, Adam is all about the future tense, not the past)?

Yeah...actually I never conceptualized it quite like that, but yes...They're all about who "Chris" (my given name) was...I took my Dad forever to address me as Adam. (I took the name Adam about 6 years ago)

ahhhh--the plot thickens. So Chris becomes Adam and Zen becomes Dao. I think I get it.

Meh - Family... they're too difficult for their own good sometimes...
I didn't rate HoFD - I thought it was a bit ropey after 'Hero' and 'Crouching Tiger'

HoFD did not hold up to the other two movies you've mentioned. The coreography was beautiful, I liked the way the movements of the warriors was very dance-like. The fights, especially those with large numbers of people, seemed to more resemble balet then your typical martial artsy combat, which I thought was an interest stylastic choice. The story, however, seemed not to really go anywhere, and I was disapointed in the end.

Yeah - it kinda turned itself into a 'genre movie' and used that as an excuse for a really weak narative...
